Social class

As with sibship size and birth order, data on social class and parental social class were collected initially to examine their possible influence upon the effects of parent death. In fact, it became possible to use the social class data to examine the relationship between various diagnoses and social mobility, that is the difference between the parent's social class and the subject's social class. Schizophrenic patients in particular occupied a lower social class status than their parents.
